Hello! I am getting the gastric sleeve and need to give my work some sort of idea. Ideally, I would like to return ASAP. I work in fashion apparel and sit at a desk 24/7 with travel at different times of the year. I can schedule my surgery to be far away from traveling. But how long did it take for most of you to return ?

I'm a truck driver in Australia and it's a very physical job some of the time.. it's not all about being a steering wheel attendant. I took two weeks off and was in no pain what so ever. I just couldn't jump on and off the truck or lift over 10-15kgs ( I think) for 6 weeks although some times I had too...

I found the first week back I had some fatigue but not to bad.

From about 3-4 weeks post I forgot I had, had surgery.. unless I ate lol...

I could of gone back earlier but it was good to take a bit extra time off ..I had no pain or discomfort from day 1 after surgery.

you sound like me by 3-4wks post I forgot I had surgery until I had to eat (when I remembered), try to stretch crazy, or lift)LMao weird how a major suegwry can make you feel so shortly after...plus feeling good about your new you journey helps good luck to you and be careful on the roads

Returned after 2 weeks, I have a desk job, listen your body and your surgeon too. Sitting is a bit uncomfortable, especially at first. I'm 3 weeks post op. Good luck!

I got the rny not the sleeve on December 12th. I had planned to return to work January 3rd, but I got a pretty bad infection in one of the incision sites and just returned to work yesterday. My suggestion would be to hope for two weeks but plan for a month to six weeks if there are complications. I still have to pack the incision site twice daily! Good luck on your surgery!

Had surgery on 15th of December.... still out. I feel like I could return to work, however, I still struggle with my Water and Protein intake. Which is very important! So I'll take it slow and return when I can work and stay healthy.

My doctor said about 2 weeks as long as the job is not physical

I was operated on Monday, went back to work a week later. But my job is sitting and walking around. I really didn't see the point to take more time off. Moving around will only help.

I was forced to go back to work after 2 weeks and it wasn't enough for me it just made my healing take longer. Fatigue and weakness from a lack of food was a factor. I think a minimum of 4 weeks is good

I went back after 2 weeks, I'm a nurse and work on my feet....I was fine...just had to be careful with lifting...

I went back after just under 2 weeks. I probably could have returned after a week. The fatigue is tough though and that will last a month or more.

I took a week and a half. I'm a nurse and was fine to go back that soon.
