    How fast can you return to work ?

    Returned after 2 weeks, I have a desk job, listen your body and your surgeon too. Sitting is a bit uncomfortable, especially at first. I'm 3 weeks post op. Good luck!

  3. Hello I have been having issues with getting in clear Protein, it's makes me extremely nauseous, I've tried a bunch of different types.. My dietician isn't in office until tomorrow, just want to make sure I'm gonna be ok. I had vsg on 12/30 Clear that I have tried Isopure (from gnc) Atkins lift True source Ensure clear (high in sugar, was wayyyyy to sweet) Feeling defeated, hopefully I can get into full stage when I talk to her tomorrow. Any one similar?

    Nervous. :/

    With that high of a bmi it is unlikely they would deny you, my bmi was 64ish, I do not have any issues (blood pressure, sleep apnea, etc) if your worried you can talk with your center, they are generally honest with you if they think your case is a good candidate.     Puree Stage - Recipe/ideas

    Here a few puree recipes my dietitian gave me, I don't start puree's for 3 weeks, my surgery is Friday 12/30. The fun has yet to come! Avocado chicken and Potato Puree 1 small potato (11oz before peeling) peeling and cut into chunks 2 oz skinless and boneless chicken thigh or breast 1/2 ripe avocado, peeled and stoned 2 tsp non-fat milk salt and pepper Steam the potato and chicken together for 25-30 minutes, place in a blender with avocado, milk, and s/p(to taste) Puree until smooth or desired consistency, thin with milk if necessary. Easy Chili 1lb 93% ground beef 1 can pinto Beans 1 packet low-sodium chili seasoning Brown hambuger meat, add chili seasoning and recommended Water, add pinto beans and simmer for 10 minutes, place chili into blender and blend until consistency of applesauce. No Noodle cheese Lasagna 3/4 cup fat free cottage(or)ricotta cheese 1/4 cup marinara or spaghetti sauce 1/4 tsp oregano 1/4 tsp basil 2 egg whites 1/3 cup low-fat mozzarella cheese. Mix cottage cheese, egg whites, oregano, basil together and place in an oven proof dish, pour marinara ontop of mixture and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake at 450 for 20 minutes or heat in microwave until hot and bubbly. Sources: drdkin.net/recipes bariatriccookery.com

    5'2 ; surgery is in 4 days. Nervous and excited are the two defining words I can use right now.
  7. My stomach is growling like a mad man, I'm honestly getting really scared for surgery. Anyone out there please help me figure out some recipes for fish? I'm not much of a fish eater, but it beats eating chicken all the time.. variety is key? I'm trying not to fail this. What i'm Allowed to eat: Plain chicken breast - no sauce or skin Egg whites (or egg beaters) - no yolks Water pack tuna Turkey - fresh deli White Fish - e, g, Tilapia, Mahi-Mahi Halibut, and Cod Seasoning - herbs, salt, pepper. broth sugar free popsicles Sugar free Jello and jello pudding mix low calorie drink mixes. water skin, unsweetened soy milk, unsweetened almond milk. torani sugar free syrups.

  9. I wish I was allowed veggies cause I would definitely do this! I'm gonna miss veggies and fruits for a while.. Hopefully after all the first stages of the diet I'll be able to tolerate them!

Mine was no more than 30 minutes, asking various questions about why you want the surgery, how you may have gotten to the weight you are, the questions are not to judge or fix you, they are there to see if you are ready to get this and succeed, they want you to have a support system too.     Here are some drink recipes my dietitian gave me, these are for pre-op and post op stage (full liquids), you can always try talking with your dietitian as well, it's their job to help!! chocolate chiller: 1 cup skim milk 1 pack no-sugar added hot chocolate mix 1 scoop Protein powder Mix well, option: add 4 ice cubes and blend. Pina Colada: 1 cup skim milk 1 scoop Protein Powder 1/2 packet sugar free vanilla pudding mix 1-2 drop pineapple extract 1-2 drops coconut extract Mix well, server over ice. Creamsicle: 1 cup crystal light or sugar free Tang 1/2-1 scoop of protein powder 1 sugar free creamsicle (any flavor) mix well.
  14. Hello, Just hoping for some tips on post op day 1 or 1st week out, I will be following dr's orders, but any tips will be considered! I will be getting VSG surgery DEC 30th as an out patient, getting it done at a center of excellence in Arizona, Phoenix area, so far I know that I will be going back a day later to get my drain removed. post op diet is looking like 1 week clear, 1 week full liquids, 3 weeks puree'd and so forth. I'm nervous and excited. Not excited for 14 days of lovenox...
