  • It is normal and it will probably go away in about a week or two. Keep doing what your doing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  • Try drinking about a quarter ounce at a time - very small sips. Wait a minute or so, then take another 1/4 oz. I had the same pains because my sips were too big, but it will get better.

I am on day 4 and I am having the same problem. But I guess I was taking too big of sips. Thanks White for the tip. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Tried my first post op Protein powder and water today. I took zofran first to help with nausea. Only getting sips in here and there, but tolerable. Water going down better.

I am 4 days out and experience the same thing when I take too big of a sip. It's very temporary but taking smaller sips definitely helps.

In my first 2 to 3 weeks post op, I had same issue with Water. Instead I chewed and scrunched on small ice chips all day and that is what worked for me. :) good luck with your journey!
