I'am so excited, i will be banded in october of 2007. i have had several abdominal surgeries, and i was wondering if anyone out there could tell me what the recovery process is like. I dont have much time to take off of work(3 days, including banding day)so anything more experienced banders could tell me would be greatly appreciated....God bless, and keep loosing. :nervous

This was my first abdominal surgery. I have had a ton of other surgeries. They do not compare to this one. In my books, it was a walk in the park(after they got the hernia issue cleared up, but that is a whole other story). I did not suffer from the gas pains. Once I got home, I never threw up. I am now on mushies and everything goes not great and stays down. Next week I go on solid foods and that may be a whole new ball game. You should do fine. Just remember, nothing lasts forever!!!! Any discomfort is a small price for the ultimate goal!!!

I had no real problems with recovery, but i was quite tired the first week. Also gas pains in your shoulder can be a little rough. I would want at least aweek off, but if you have pain meds you should be ok. Congrats on your date. I love my band.
