My Surgery Date

I’m scheduled for gastric bypass surgery on January 5, 2017. To date I’ve lost around 20 pounds but I still have some fear of the two week liquid diet that starts December 22. Any recommendations on how to get through the two weeks before surgery would be greatly appreciated and I will keep you up-to-date on how things are proceeding.

Thank you for the support in advance

Actually the 2 week liquid diet is not bad. Are you using Optifast? If so I can give you some tips on flavoring. Let me know.

@@marieac2 I start my 20 day preop using Optifast. I would love some tips

Use vanilla bean for vanilla shake. It's trial & error on amount, use little at time, blend for 10-12 seconds. I would also invest in a good blender, I bought NutriBullet. It's great & you will use after your surgery as well. You can also add orange extract to vanilla. For the choc I added 1 tablespoon of plain dark cocoa, & tablespoon of sugar free instant choc pudding. Experiment with different extracts, I bought them all. Good luck!

I used for the liquid diet slim fast, and premier protein. Both work well and taste is good. I used vanilla, chocolate and Carmel. And tomato soup, low salt. And to handle the desire for chewing. Gum sugarless.
