  1. My surgeons office had me on solids by week 2 and my body was sooo not ready !!!! Take it slow and don’t rush it . Start with triple zero yogurt for a couple weeks . That was my biggest mistake even though my dr said I could eat tuna and egg salad I definitely had dumping . I’m 10 months out now and down 90 pounds . Couldn’t be. Happier !!
  2. I’m 10 months out . Around 6 months I tried sushi wrapped in cucumber I could just eat two pieces and I have tried regular with rice and can only eat 2 pieces of that also but that’s fine with me !! Down 90 pounds

  6. My dr had me on solids early too and for me my body was 100% not ready . The support group I am in most of them didn't start solids for a while after me . For me starting regular foods too early made me feel horrible. It was about 3 -4weeks until I could tolerate tuna blended really well or some egg salad . Mostly though I lived on triple zero Greek yogurt and sugar free ice pops for a while ! Try and take it slow
  7. I know exactly I'm a total foodie ! 5 weeks might be a little hard to be away from home but just bring any shakes or whatever your dr allows you to have with you . We've been away several times recently and I was surprised how easy it was to find healthy things to order . Only thing that sucked was watching the family eat at the breakfast buffet . I just ****** a couple bites of eggs and a little fruit and I'm good . This time will pass so quickly! You'll do great ! Feel free to message me if you have any questions!
  8. The first few weeks are a little rough but it will pass before you know it . I am almost 6 months out and down 70 pounds . I felt some regret right after but your body will get used to it . I have half a slice of pizza here and there and I am able to tolerate steak . I could not drink protein shakes from the beginning so that was hard . It definitely gets easier I promise !!! Some things I can't eat are desserts or anything with sugar , and rice doesn't sit well with me . Try to avoid bread but have pita or Half English muffin here and there an it's totally fine . Just stay positive and keep your eye on the prize .
  9. I was sleeved January 30th and took one week off. Still took it easy and I do have a desk job. Best thing I ever did was have this surgery! Down 70 pounds as of today !! Good luck !

  11. There's so many ! I had surgery 1/30/16 down 56 pounds . Taking my kids to universal without worrying I won't fit in rides , being able to walk to parks for 3 days and my feet didn't hurt . Feel so much more comfortable and I'm only half way there !Best decision I ever made [emoji4]

  14. This surgery is something I considered for years. I had friends who had it done but I thought it wasn't for me . After gaining a lot of weight my highest was 270 my feet hurt , had trouble walking and couldn't take my kids places where there was a lot of walking . The last straw was I was away with my hubby for our 20th anniversary and we were taking a pottery class . All of a sudden my chair broke and I was on the floor. OMG was soooo embarrassing!! That was it I scheduled my consultation. Was sleeved January 30 and am down 46 pounds since then . Feeling so much better, so much healthier , I can walk more with no pain and I'm not even half way to my goal yet. This surgery was way easier than I expected and I also had my gallbladder removed . So glad I did it . If you are thinking about it just take the plunge you will feel so much better!

First couple nights home I slept propped up in bed with lots of pillows then I just move to couch and prop up with pillows . Last night was first night I was able to sleep on my side. 22. My surgeon says I do not need to go on a liquid diet because my bmi is 46. They said they start liquid diets when patients have bmi of 48 or higher but everyone I talk to says they have to do at least 2 weeks . I even called and they said it's not necessary. I'm confused why not ! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
