6 days till I start my pre-Op Diet. Surgery is Dec. 19th...

My question is... I have severe IBS, I would say my stomach hurts 70% of the time. There is no one things that sets it off. Does anyone else have IBS? If so, how did you do after surgery?

My neurologist said that the sleeve would not correct the IBS but it would decrease the discomfort tremendously! However, I have not been able to find any information on-line to back up his statement. It does make sense, changing your diet and decreasing food intake.

Before surgery I had horrible IBSD and had bad stomach days 5-6 days a week to the point where I had a hard time even going out with my family or friends due to the pain and all. Since surgery i have had only maybe three bad stomach days, and even with that it only lasted a few hours and not the whole day. My surgery was 14 months ago. I have said more then once that even if I hadn't lost any weight the surgery was worth it for the relief I have gotten from the IBS. I will say I have seen posts from others who have not had IBS improvements, but for me it has been a miracle.

I have IBS too. I had surgery November 8, 2016 and my stomach is going crazy! I haven't noticed any relief. I contacted my surgeon and he said I cannot take anything to help keep me regular. I'm to the point I'm afraid to leave the house because I'm spending so much time in the bathroom. However, I have read a lot of people to get relief. I'm hopeful this is just a phase.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
