  1. I did not share my surgery with anyone other than immediate family members... I did not want to deal with everyone's personal opinion. Fear of negative feedback. My surgery was at the perfect time December 19th therefore I can just say just living a healthier life when I am questioned or commented on the weight loss. My 12 year daughter has noticed in my face and my mom is measuring me daily with her eyes. Lol she has lots of fears that I will loss too much weight. You know moms, always worried... 2. Oh me too... But I look at the wrinkled skin on my legs and know my measurements are getting smaller. I am just 4 weeks PO and have been at a stall for one week. But I still feel my body changing. Hang in there, you can do this!!! I didn't take measurements, I should! Maybe I will today. Just be in tune with your body and listen to what it tells you. Sometimes numbers are not the way to go when your in a stall. Stay positive and keep smiling. You got this!!! Dana Sleeved ~ December, 19th 2016
  3. Hello, I also have RA and Fibro... I was sleeved on Dec 19th, 2016. As far as complications. The only thing I've really been dealing with is the vomiting and that I'm guessing is just from learning the amount that I can take I'm not even close to a fourth of a cup of intake... It's quite a bit less than that and I have to wait about 5-10 minutes before I can have anything else intake wise. Heartburn / acid reflux is a major problem, I take Prilosec now but it only helps for about half of the day, I don't know if I should be taking 2 a today... so I'm just going to switch up and try different over-the-counter Med. I'm not too terribly concerned about it because I'm sure it is just being able to find the right combination of meds it's going to work for me. As far as my fibro pain or anything of that nature, I haven't really been experiencing any pain since I have been at home recovering, if nothing else I feel that this is going to be better because of the weights Los will be easier on my bones and muscles. Best of luck. Sent from my SM-T800 using the BariatricPal App

  6. Hello All... Today I am 17 days post-op and it was the first day I did not vomit. I was able to get up and do some things around the house without having to sit and rest every 5-10 mins. It felt good to have some energy and be functioning like normal. I am down 22 pounds since my surgery day. Hot flashes are the worst, at least one every hour. I know that I am not getting all my water and protein in but I just keep trying. Looking forward to everyday for improvements! I had to push back my return to work day by a week since I have been struggling, hoping for next week returning to work. One good note, when I look in the mirror... I can see the loss in my face!!! My 12 year old daughter has Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease it is a very disabling disease. She has had 5 surgeries to keep her moving. This pass surgery was very hard on me to care for her because I was unable to move her the way I needed to because of my weight! I got sleeved to be able to get healthier to take care of my daughter. I am one week post op and can already see changes, the first couple of days I was regrettful because of some complications but it was quickly taking care of. Today I am greatful for the opportunity and the ability to make the health decisions that I did. Best of luck!! Sleeved 12-19-16 Dana

  18. These are just a few of my questions... How long of a hospital stay? How long off of work? What items do you need to have in your home for after surgery? Does your doctor know who your RX is for your meds? Make sure to make a list, because you will forget. December 19th 2016... I shall be Sleeved! Let the journey begin!! Dana

  22. Hello my December 2016 Sleevers... Hows everyone doing on their pre-op diet thus far?? That is my biggest concern. Dana
  23. Dec 19th also!! When do you start your pre-op diet?
  24. Dec. 19th I shall be sleeved!!! This is a wonderful idea! I have just my mom, daughter, and sister for support. I have not shared my surgery with anyone else for the fear of negative thoughts and such. This is something I am doing this for myself and do not want any outsiders input. Please add me to your group, I would be greatful to have friends to talk to about my journey and to be there for you also!! Dana
  25. Dec. 19th is my sleeve... I am nervous about the 2 week pre-Op diet the most. I know it is going to be so hard to be on liquids at first. I just thinking about the benefits afterwards!!!
