Clear liquids vs. Shakes

I'm 4 days post op on clear liquids+Protein shakes. I can drink a whole premiere protein in about 30 minutes, but I can't drink 8oz Water in the same time. Why is this? Is this typical?

Plain water was the hardest thing for me to drink for quite a while after surgery. I think it is pretty common.

It is interesting how people are so different. Water never gave me trouble, but it took me about 2 hours to finish a Premier Protein shake at first and I couldn't add them in until Day 10.

Make sure your Water isnt too cold for the first 2 weeks or so. I made that mistake and the dr said that my stomach constricted each time the cold water hit, making my life much harder than it needed to be.

I've always loved water but it tastes funny now. I'm assuming its the ketosis.

I am one week post op and ice cold water is my favorite thing. Love it. All of the protein shakes are making me wanna barf. Funny how everyone is so different.
