Almonds

I am almost 2 months post surgery. My NUT has me on three small meals per day. This is not cutting it... I started to snack a little. Sugar free jello. I read almonds are good. How ofton and how much almonds would you recommend. Thoughts on three small meals?

@@PLEZ My plan is 4-6 small meals(about 3 hrs apart). I don't know how you could meet protein goals with only 3 meals. What are you getting for protein and calories? I would snack with a high protein snack (cheese, deli meat, nuts (limited though), pack of tuna.

Thanks...I am not meeting my goals...Lost 47 pounds but I want to break bad habits...

How much cheese and deli meat do you eat

How much is your daily protein goal if you don't mind me asking.

Can I ask why it's not cutting it? Are you hungry?

Before my op I did my research on the highest Protein sources and I keep a list in my journal for easy reference.

For Snacks I would recommend Greek yogurt, a hard boiled egg, 1/2 cup cottage/ricotta cheese, or edamame...

I don't think there is anything wrong with snacking on a few nuts BUT almonds are 3.9 grams of protein per 20 gram serve which is around 120 calories. Plain low fat Greek yogurt however is 16.5 grams of protein for a whole tub and depending on what brand, is around the same calories as 20g of nuts. So you're getting 16.5g protein vs 3.9g for the same calories, and yogurt will fill you longer.

*sorry for the novel :/
