Drain

Hi everyone,

I am almost a week post op but I still have a drain. The drain has been leaking around the hose and not just into the bulb. So I have been having to pack it with gauze and tape and change the dressings twice a day or more if I leak through. Has anyone else dealt with this and How long till your surgeon removed the drain.

Thank You

Has anybody dealt with postop pain over a week out? It's like a sharp pulling feeling near the belly button that radiates to the lower left side of the abdomen and the left leg? Should I be concerned?

@@Bhca8201 My surgeon told me that can be normal, however, if it is concerning, address with your surgeon. Pain can sometimes indicate infection (usually associated with redness as well), so reaching out to your surgeon may be a good idea so they can further assess you.

Question about when the doctor pulls the drain out. How bad does it hurt? Or what does it feel like?

I never had a "drain" so I am not really sure what you are talking about. Sorry.
