Diet and Exercise before surgery?!?!?

Hey guys good afternoon. I was told to get the ball rolling with the diet and exercise before surgery. I will be honest, I tried and I failed. I joined the gym and have not been once. I do drink lots of Water though. However before I see the nutritionist how important is it to take in Protein and Vitamins before my surgery? I will most likely have my surgery in Dec or early Jan because I'm in school and want to finish that first. My nutritionist visit is Oct 4 2016. So Should I get the ball rolling now honestly or do I have a little time to play? I want some serious answers No Play here lol.

I am going through the same pre op thing...my surgery is November 30th and I've told myself I will start exercising more and that hasn't happened. The thing that helped me increase my activity is I bought a Fitbit the other day and I keep looking at it to see how many steps I've taken and how many calories I've burned.

It isn't magical, just like the surgery, but I feel more in tune with myself and more accountable. I've gained weight lately and found that I've given myself a 'free pass' because I'm having surgery. Well, no more of that!

It is truly One Day At A Time with this stuff! So hard but we can do it. I actually used the steps today at work instead of the elevator! Victory!

Good luck to you and let us know how you're doing.
