August 8, 20169 yr My surgeon gave me a list of crackers that he allows and cheezits are not on it. They probably have more fat and carbs. Can always ask your nut.
August 9, 20169 yr That is a question for your nutritionist/bariatric team. BUT: I would think ----NO Crackers are just too tempting with too many carbs with very little benefit. I am five years out and still treat crackers --especially Cheetos!---like the plague! Really though, give your team a call. They will be able to guide you on your specific plan.
August 9, 20169 yr I eat Cheez-its sometimes. I eat goldfish crackers everyday. I also remember that shortly after surgery crackers that had too much flavor (which is usually higher fat content) made me super sick. In theory, if you can eat saltines you're fine eating Cheez-its, but they are more likely to make you sick than boring, bland saltines.
August 9, 20169 yr I have 3 saltines on my plan for some "meals" hummus or chicken salad. Sometimes I just have parmasean crisp instead less carbs when I have saltines I get the whole grain premium brand (the main nabisco saltine brand but with whole grain) or Annie's brand. Crackers are a big area of conflicting opinion as much as my team is conservative on many things I have them as an option on my soft meal phase I am confident that cheese it's would not be allowed they have little nutritional value and a lot more calories, sodium and fat. August 9, 20169 yr Cheez it's are good. Baked and 3g Protein. Just chew well to a paste like consistency.
August 9, 20169 yr Popular Post Stick with the cheese, drop the itz part. Soft cheese if you like it, on a spoon, not a cracker.
August 9, 20169 yr cheese Itz are baked yes, but the have 8 grams of fat per serving. That's the same amount of fat as Doritos, which start out as fried tortilla chips. I would stay away from them bc of the fat alone. How about string cheese, or a mini baby bel cheese, so you get some nutrition as well? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

August 9, 20169 yr String cheese is not a cracker. She asked about crackers. Sometimes you just want to have a crunch.
August 9, 20169 yr Popular Post String cheese is not a cracker. She asked about crackers. Sometimes you just want to have a crunch. Sometimes you just want to drink a beer, smoke a cigarette and eat a large pizza, too, but it's not always the best idea.

August 9, 20169 yr Popular Post Thank you so much for opening my eyes! Cravings should be the ultimate answer in this WLS game for sure! Who cares about being nutritionally sound?! Cheese-itz are an awesome idea!! Pass the box!!
August 9, 20169 yr If you want to get into a pissing match over the best food choices, I raise you kale, quinoa and salmon. Don't be so judgmental over someone else choice. She asked about a cracker.
