Steristrip removal

Hi everyone!

5 days post op and my strips are really pulling on my incision. I want to take the one off but hubby is freaking out.

I also would like to start applying Vitamin e oil but my husband is insisting they stay on.

What are your thoughts?

My incisions were superglued and I was instructed not to touch them or rub them. They fell off naturally after about three weeks.

I am not familiar with steristrips. Were you given written post-op instructions about them? If not, I would give your surgeon's office a call before doing anything.

I had my surgery Tuesday and they said day 4 remove the plastic and leave the gauze on. They will fall off by itself

Mine were removed at my first post-op appointment 8 days out; however, the tape seemed to pull my incisions open a little again. Yesterday one really came open (not bloody just a hole). I cleaned it well and put a butterfly bandage on it. Talk to your doctor's office about it.

I took mine off a few days after surgery. I have a sensitivity to any adhesive like band aids or tape. They were itching so bad. I had no problems
