  1. Hi everyone, I was banded in July and have only lost 10 pounds, most of which was from the liquid diet. I've had a full but can still eat lots of food. I'm making better choices, eating smaller portions and protein and have really back cut back on sweets. I go four hours between meals and I do not snack. Any other suggestions? I was 170lbs to begin and I'm now 160. Thank you! Kelly Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I am two weeks and I just recently started getting hungry again and can eat bigger portions. I was advised this would happen though. They told me weight loss will not start until after my first fill one month after the surgery. This is healing time. I'm hanging on to that... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  5. Have you considered what foods you are choosing? Try doing what KristinLe is recommending she is not wrong. I think you're body is holding onto calories. Consult a nutritionist if you can. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. A little harsh KristenLe she needs support right now, no? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. It's hard at the beginning but you need to do this for yourself! It will also give you the confidence you need to stick to the rules after. I suggest you put a picture of inspiration on the cupboard and fridge. This might be a pic of a skinnier you, the worst photo of you, a pic of your kids, a pic of the lapband, whatever you need. Throw anything out that is tempting you. Your family can hide their Snacks if they won't support you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. [emoji45] sorry!
  9. Thanks guys! I went for a walk and I do feel a bit better. I think you may be right and it's the "come down" and hormones. Also I was a carb, sugar and caffeine junkie and I've had none of that in 3 weeks now. That has to be contributing to this low, no? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Thank you so much for the feedback. I will stick to it from here on. That's good info on Pasta and rice. Chris Christie had wls surgery? Really?! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Hi KristenLe, Thank you for the response. I have been in therapy for a few weeks now, obviously not long enough. I wish I could take it back. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  13. Hi everyone, I need your help. I am only 1 week postop and I was very foolish yesterday. I had rice and a quesadilla at a restaurant. I only ate a tiny amount of each, my hubby couldn't believe I could possibly be full, but it certainly was not puréed. I also had a frozen marguerita. I chewed everything super well and had no pain or feeling of anything getting stuck. However, after, I felt like I had eaten a four course meal. I was absolutely stuffed and there was a lot of pressure and tightness. Today my stomach feels and looks swollen. I am now panicking that I have somehow pushed the band out of place or ruined my surgery. I have no pain whatsoever. Should I be worried? Would it be painful if the band has slipped? I can't believe I've done this to myself, only one week in!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  16. Hi everyone! 5 days post op and my strips are really pulling on my incision. I want to take the one off but hubby is freaking out. I also would like to start applying Vitamin e oil but my husband is insisting they stay on. What are your thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Hi dorriee an, The shoulder pain was excruciating but it gets better everyday! The pain from the incisions isn't actually that bad. They are all above my belly button on me so they don't restrict that much. The third day was the worst pain for that. Now they are bruising over so looks like the healing has started. Good luck with your surgery. This is the beginning of your new life! Happy thoughts! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. I need more Protein. How am I going to purée chicken or fish so that it tastes decent? Does anyone have any recipes? Can I eat ground beef at this stage? What about fish cakes? Can I make fish cakes with no breading obviously and baked instead of fry. Thanks friends! Kbarbs Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. KrisinLe that's great advice! I am scrapping those imperatives from my vocab. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. Hi everyone, It's been 4 days since I've had my band in. I am so sad and constantly teary and I don't know why. I'm recovering as I should be, following the prescribed diet and doing ok. Hubby is super supportive but I am so teary and sad. Is this possibly the anaesthetic? Did anyone else go through this? I have NOTHING to be sad about! Thanks, Kbarbs Xoxoxo Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I hope it works out for you. I have sleep apnea but my wouldn't pay for any of it! In Canada only the gastric bypass is covered. Where do you live? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. Thanks theProfessie for such a warm welcome! I weighed 171 lbs before the preop diet. I am now 159. I am only 5'0" so I need to go down to 110 to be at my suggested weight. But I'll see how I feel. I will head your advice and ensure that I stick to the proper stage. It is tempting to rush through it but I'm sticking to it... So far.
