Not losing weight

Hi everyone,

I was banded in July and have only lost 10 pounds, most of which was from the liquid diet.

I've had a full but can still eat lots of food. I'm making better choices, eating smaller portions and protein and have really back cut back on sweets. I go four hours between meals and I do not snack.

Any other suggestions? I was 170lbs to begin and I'm now 160.

Thank you!

Kelly

As long as you are following your surgeon's plan, and not overeating or eating foods that are high in calories and of no real nutritional value, the weight will come off. Banded folk often lose at a slower pace than other types of WLS. 1-2 lbs. a week is considered good and not everyone loses steady anyway. Are you exercising? Physical activity can also help even if it's just walking to start.

How many calories/carbs are you eating every day? I stick around 1300 calories or so, carbs lower than 100, balanced diet.

Are you working out? How many grams of Protein are you consuming daily? My doctors say it's best to get around 80 grams of protein daily. I just started working out because my weight has reached a stand still and I had surgery back in April and I've lost 40 lbs

Good luck!!
