Daphne's journey

So I'm at the very start of this, I had an intake with a nurse, dietician an psych. Because I have some psych problems they decided to put me in a 3 month trail where I have to prove that I'm able to lower my amount of binges without relapsing in Other destructive behavior.

Im at 1 month now and its been really hard (tbh quitting smoking was easier than this), but I'm managing. One step at a time.

My next appointments are at the beginning of August, i'll talk to the dietician and psych again and 23/8 I have an appointment with the endocrinologist (secretly hoping I'll get a go then ;)).

Ill keep you guys up to date

Starting weight: 150,4 kg or 331,5 lbs

Current: 142,0 kg or 313 lbs

Lost: 8,4 kg or 16,5 lbs

Not really a difference, but I have to start somewhere

Ps.: sorry for my broken english, I hope you guys understand...

Pfff, had a bad day today, I ate everything I could find... Now I feel like I should give up and that I'm not strong enough to work on my binging. I hope i get some new motivation tomorrow

I had a big boost in motivation today, I have a few days of work and went to a zoo, something I really enjoy. After not even seeing half of the park I was so exhausted that I had to choose what animals I really wanted to see because I wasnt able to visit all of them. I'm so angry for letting myself get so far, but if I have to pick the biggest reason for doing the surgery its for being able to do normal stuff like this, getting my condition back.

I'm in specific treatment for my eating disorder, it was the first condition for being allowed in the surgery program, its hard but I know it will be worth it in the end. Thanks for the tip anyway :)

Don't give up!

Take it one day, one hour, one minute, or even one second at a time.

Have you considered attending some OA meetings? You may find it helpful. There is information and meeting lists online at OA.org.

I never know there were meetings in my country. At this moment I'm talking to my psych about my eating habbits (every 2-3 weeks), I just recently opend up to her about it. I will keep the meetings in mind for the future, but at this point I'm just to ashamed to talk to others ( face-to-face) about my binging. I just need to get used to talking about it first.

Oh and the clinic also has a psych talking to me every month and my Other psych (doctor) also knows about my BED, and I talk to him every month.... So enough talking for now ;)

So i have an update, i changed dr after being turned down over and over by the psych. I wanted to start in a complete new place because it didn't feel good anymore. Had to wait a a bit more than a month for all the pre op consults and they went really good. I trust these people and regret not going there in the first place...

So last week I had my last appointment with Dr Ceuleman and got my date! 18/01, I'm so excited, scared but happy ????. I have to do shakes 2 weeks pre op, 600kcal a day, I hope it won't be to hard while working (I'm a full time nurse)...

Been doing really well the past week, eating normal ( no overeating, binging,...) and getting 10.000 steps every day. I'm proud, the surgery is giving me so much hope. Cant wait till 18/01.

Today I'm going out for dinner with my family, its a 3 hours all you can eat buffet. I'm gonne allow myself to eat everything that I want, kind of like a last time binge :) a goodbye to this lifestyle...

That's not a good idea. Does your Dr. Know about your binging?

Yes they know, i have been working really hard on it, going from 2-3 binges a day to 2-3 a month so... last one was 11/12 (the buffet) and that's the only one this month. Already lost 15 lbs in the last 6 weeks. I'm seeing a psych about it every 2 weeks and she's teaching me how to deal with my binging.

The pre op diet is going to be a real test for me, but I'm determined to do everything right. This is my chance to turn my life around. 1 more week untill the 2 weeks pre op diet starts
