8 days post op VSG eats

I had watermelon yesterday and it was delicious. I sucked on it for the juice and I have no shame . It settled well and now I kinda don't like watermelon anymore lol. It was good and all but I believe that my tastebuds have changed a bit. For example, I used to love Premiere Protein during my pre op stage, but now I gag when I drink it. I don't have anything against the brand, but my bariatric nurse as well as my big sister (a bypass patient) stated that your taste buds change post op. Has anyone else experienced this? If so I would love to hear about it.

Yes, I am experiencing the same issues. I will be 4 weeks post op on the 13th. I too really enjoyed premier Protein in my pre-op stage. Now I can't stand the taste, I gag as well. I also enjoyed Isopure, gag at the site of it now. Because of all this I'm struggling to get protein in. I do not like the taste of any Protein powder or drink at this point.

So true. It's like I've developed a fear of taste of protein. The only protein I get is yogurt and the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury powder I add to my Soups.
