  3. I believe that you will. My surgery was one of the best decision I've ever made. If you follow directions and don't stress yourself then everything should fall into place. Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
  4. You will! Just listen to your doctors and stay true to YOU! This is your journey and don't let anyone throw you off your game! Good luck with your journey. Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
  5. Greetings all, I am officially 4 months 3weeks post op! I am 58lbs down and I've gone from a size of 18/20 to 10/12. I am genuinely in love with myself again. Coming from a person that's been an obese child, adolescent, and adult; this journey is amazing. Now I can't lie; there are sometimes in which I stall and feel like crap or when I eat junk food, but I hop back on the band wagon and straighten up. I would say that the biggest struggle is having your mental catch up with the physical! Some days I walk pass the mirror and same damn girl you look good and then there are some days in which I just say DAMNNNNN Wtf are you doing today. I must say it's an amazing dynamic but hey it is now a part of my life. Does anyone else experience this? Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
  6. You all are absolutely correct. I was repulsed by him the entire time. It was an excellent learning experience. Believe me, I am not a fan of hard lessons so I will never hang out with his ragged a $# again. Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
  7. Thank you ladies for your responses! Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
  8. So the other day my ex and I went out. He noticed I was losing weight and asked me what was I doing in order to lose weight. I took a deep breath and told him that I had gastric sleeve surgery. His face changed immediately, I quickly snapped and asked what? He stated "well my mom had the lap band so I know how this goes". I asked him what is that supposed to mean? He said all these negative things like what about loose skin, you know you have to work out with the surgery, basically all the things I knew about. It basically wasn't what he said but how he said them. I just wanted to slap him. I'm not a sensitive person, but he struck a freaking nerve! I guess because he was all over me when I was fat, but now as I slim down he hates me... I have no idea, I mean he is an ex, but apart of me still cares about what he thinks. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
  9. Thank you all. II haven't began taking measurements as of yet, but, I will start this week. Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App

  11. I did a few days after surgery, but now I love my sleeve. Sometimes I get pissed because I can't eat what I thought I could, but that's just me being a brat. Overall it's an amazing journey and I wouldn't change a thing. Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
  12. Hey girl! I've lost 23 and I had surgery of the 30th. I'm losing more inches than pounds; may be that's the case for you. Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
  13. Opurity multi is pretty decent. It even has 30mg of Iron! It can be a little chalky, yet you only have to take it once!!!! All you have to take is your Calcium and that's it! Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
  14. Omg I've just posted the same thing. I too have noticed that I'm losing more inches then pounds. I think it's because I haven't hit the gym yet. I'm going t inquire with my surgeon and see if this is normal as well. Let me know if you get an answer. Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
  15. So I'm officially 1 month post-op in 4days, and it feels great! I am down 23 pounds. Today I was playing around with some of my old clothes and amazingly I could fit them pretty well. I've noticed that I'm losing inches faster than pounds: has anyone noticed that they're losing inches faster than pounds as well? Let me know what you all think. 16. If you don't mind me asking, for your liquids diet what are you taking, I'm waiting for my insurance approval and I'm just trying to prepare for all this. And how long do you have to be on the liquid diet Yani sugar free popsicles, low to no sodium chicken broth (you don't want high blood pressure ), Protein shakes, skim, soy or unsweetened almond milk, Water of course, and sugar free jello! That's all I can think of. Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App Thank you very much Yani Anytime! I'm an open book ask me anything you need! 21. I don't think its cheating because it wasn't like you were eating a block of sharp cheddar. It was shredded and melted, hell if you feel guilty call the doctors office and ask if its okay or not. Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
  22. Go enjoy yourself. Im sure there will be some kind of soft food for you. Don't allow your surgery to turn you into a hermit. Just have self control and pace yourself! Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
  23. Yes. I ate small little sins on my pre op diet ( pieces of chicken breast and an oreo cookie). It had brought such guilt but I had an epiphany afterwards, and that was if you're doing this pre op how in the hell will you survive post op. Im glad I did eat the little sins because it allowed me to reevaluate my decision. After feeling sad for a bit I figured that life was about trial and error and we make mistakes, but we can't kill ourselves with guilt because of the mistakes. In my time of re-evaluation I discovered that I had ate the foods not because I was hungry but because it was there and I was tired of liquid. I am now 8 days post op VSG and I do not crave solids nor have I eaten any little sins lol. My advice to you would stop now, take a laxative (if allowed by your surgeon ) and stop beating yourself up because you're human and this is all new to you! 24. I had watermelon yesterday and it was delicious. I sucked on it for the juice and I have no shame . It settled well and now I kinda don't like watermelon anymore lol. It was good and all but I believe that my tastebuds have changed a bit. For example, I used to love Premiere Protein during my pre op stage, but now I gag when I drink it. I don't have anything against the brand, but my bariatric nurse as well as my big sister (a bypass patient) stated that your taste buds change post op. Has anyone else experienced this? If so I would love to hear about it. Sent from my SM-G360P using the BariatricPal App
