  1. Great question! I have to be honest and say that the first three months was a struggle for me. You completely break up with food, and once your able to move around more you feel great. I would definetly do it again if I had to. Actually, I wish I had done it years ago. As for things I can do now....what a difference. I feel great!! I've lost about 56lbs. I can now cross my legs, purchase clothes out of a regular store. My stamina has increased, no more pre-diabetic stage, no more high blood pressure medication. My skin is now glowing!! I go more places and participate in more activities because I'm no longer embarrassed by my weight. You will feel like a new person. And all of the things krakow57 mentioned above. This site is very supportive. I don't think I could have gotten through those first few months without the helpful advice of others on this site. Do it for yourself!!! You will be happy you did. 2. I had the same issue and started boiling the chicken breast, then shredding it and adding Greek yogurt, a few grapes, and celery seed for a chicken salad. It's delicious and is much easier to go down. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I used to love premier Protein. Now the Protein powder, and the drinks make me gag. I will try one tomorrow with s/f coffee syrup. I hadn't thought of that. I want some meat so bad!!! Lol!! Honestly, I tried a bake potato today and it went down well. I was only able to eat a little, but I'm desperate to get anything down. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. The Protein shakes make me gag now. I used to drink about two a day pre-surgery. I was able to get 4oz in after surgery. Thanks for the suggestions. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Hi. I am checking in to see how people who were sleeves the same week as me are doing. I still can't eat, my calorie intake is around 300. I am wondering if someone can give me some ideas on meals. It appears that I can't eat meat. It makes me sad because I loved meat before the sleeve. I look at it and want it, but it just doesn't set well with my stomach. It doesn't feel well going down at all. I love vegetables, and still do but I need Protein. 11. I'm a Credentialing analyst and I would suggest going back after 4 weeks. I don't do a lot of lifting etc but my energy level just started getting back to normal at 5 wks post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Hey Everyone, I just wanted to know if anyone is having trouble getting food down. I am struggling with getting 64 oz of Fluid and food down. The only thing that feels good going down is Water. I make sure I chew the food well but all I feel is air or something. My stomach makes the strangest noises. My nut thinks I need to take smaller bites. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I have resorted to Water only. I am going back to broths to try to help me get to get 64 oz a day. I forced myself to eat more food yesterday and gained a pound. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. Yes, I am experiencing the same issues. I will be 4 weeks post op on the 13th. I too really enjoyed premier Protein in my pre-op stage. Now I can't stand the taste, I gag as well. I also enjoyed Isopure, gag at the site of it now. Because of all this I'm struggling to get protein in. I do not like the taste of any Protein powder or drink at this point. 15. I agree, I hope that you stay on as well. I am a newbie, I was sleeves on 6/13 and I appreciate and look forward to any information given on this site. I just hate that it gets so negative sometimes. These surgeries are life altering and any support should be welcomed. Especially if the person is considering something as silly as bacon one week post op. Sounds like they needed more counseling before they choose the surgery. food relationships are a big part of this, and I wasn't allowed to have my surgery until I got control of my eating habits. You have to have that to be successful. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Hi. I had my surgery on 6/13 as well and can only drink about 8oz of water. A few bites of food here and there. I have lost about 25lbs, but I think a stall is coming soon because I'm not able to eat a lot. I would love to hear how your doing with food and weight loss. 17. Hi, I'm doing ok. I go back to work tomorrow. I have to go back half days because I still can't get 64oz of Fluid in. I am finally walking ok and getting around pretty good. I can barely eat though. I'm struggling with acid reflux. How are you doing with your food and diet? Sounds like your doing great. How much weight have you lost so far? I'm down 25 lbs, but I'm sure to hit a stall soon because I can't get much food in. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Same, sleeves on 6/13/2016. I called the doctor today and was told I may be drinking too fast. I'm constipated as well so I am taking Miralax. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. It's very nice reading this post as I too am having many regrets. I was sleeved on 6/13/2016; 3 weeks out and I am miserable. I cannot eat much food at all, and the food I do eat doesn't want to come out on its own. I too keep asking myself what did I do?? I am scheduled to go back to work next Tuesday, but honestly don't feel I'm ready. I'm very tired and weak ~ lack of food I'm sure. I just pray everyday that I will start to feel better. Right now it just makes me sad. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I had a drain too, and as you stated there was ALOT of fluid in it. I had it in for two days. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. Kristen it will get better. I am 12 days post op and I feel/felt the same way you do right now. My ninja blender has become my best friend. I cannot eat much right now, but I found boiling chicken and breaking it down in the ninja very fine helped me. I use the broth from the chicken I n mashed potato flakes for make substance. And the broth is also a good source of Protein by itself. Now many will probably have a problem with the potato flakes, but the truth is I cant eat enough to stop me from losing weight. I can probably eat 3 or 4 spoons of the mixture. And my surgeon recommended them, because I don't like grits or cream of wheat. I made a batch on Monday and ate it for lunch only Tues - Thurs. For Breakfast I ate egg salad (I can only eat one egg) small bites of soft Turkey bacon. I also drink a carnation breakfast Essential throughout the day (15g protein) and I love Isopure. One Isopure last me three days. I must say you have to get creative to get the food in. It's a job in itself. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I contemplated this surgery for years too. I pray that all will be well when you return. Good luck to you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. @skinny_knees. I am trying my best to get fluids and Protein in but I get so full so quick. I am going to a 2 HR schedule today to see if I can get more protein and fluids in. I'm sure I would be losing more weight if I got everything in. Have you tried boiled eggs yet? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I'm the culprit, I'm 11 days out and just really started moving around ok today. The pain was excruciating!!! I went to my first post op appt and the surgeon stated that I had a large stomach so when they removed it they had to stretch my stitches tighter??? I also had an hiatal hernia repair done. I could not lay flat, and any movement that required the use of stomach muscles was unbearable. He gave me more pain meds and asked that I rest until today. He was right, because last night I was able to sleep in my bed. Today I am up walking around! I'm hoping that I will be able to drive today. I have been walking all over the house this morning with very little pain. Thank God!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
