I just had my pre-op appointment with my surgeon and I got a date!! August 2, 2016!!

I'm sooo excited! I'm wondering if there are any others having bypass on or around this date?! I need friends!!

Today is the day! I barely slept and I'm anxious, nervous, excited, scared, happy and all kinds of things all at once!

I just got a a terrifying phone call.

Some lady said that she was calling from the hospital where my surgery is scheduled. She said my insurance is covering 80% and I'm responsible for the 20%. (I was already aware of that) Then she said that my 20% comes out to $6,630 and that I had to leave a deposit over the phone of at least half. My surgery center required a deposit to meet my deductible of $3,000. I paid that last week. I told the lady on the phone that I had already paid $3,000, she said it wasn't showing up on her end and that it might've just been the surgeons fee which is not included in the facility fee. I AM FREAKING OUT. I don't have another $3,000 to pay by Tuesday!! I can't call my insurance or surgeons office since they are both closed on Sunday. Has anyone gone through this???

@ inspyrdbyu - THANK YOU SO MUCH! That means so much to me I called my insurance and surgeons office and both said they had nothing to do with the hospital and their billing. I called the hospital but keep getting their voicemail. I have a number to call between 3-6pm to confirm my arrival time tomorrow so I'm basically just sitting here waiting for that. Hoping for the best!

Your insurance should have been able to tell you your responsibility. I find they are getting lazier all the time! We pay alot of $ and get horrible service. So annoying! I hope your surgery goes flawlessly!

So far so good other than the pesky dry mouth. The wait was long, about 4 hours but then I was out and awake again in what felt like minutes!

I hope the others that had it today are doing good. Keep hitting that pain button

I called the hospital at 3 and they told me to be there at 11am and my surgery is scheduled for 1pm so as of now..I'm showing up! Don't feel guilty, enjoy! If I don't get on here tomorrow, I wish you the best of luck as well! I hope your surgery goes very well and I look forward to hearing about how great you feel!

I'm two days from surgery. Clear liquids tomorrow. Laundering the bed linens and clothes to pack. After urging I went and purchased dry-mouth spray along with a fresh Chapstick. It has been a long line to get to this roller coaster, but the gate is visible now. My family is keeping me busy tomorrow so it should go fast. Time to breathe and stay calm.

They won't let me use the spray. I should've sneaked it bc my mouth is so dry and their sponge thing lasts like a minute!!

Hello All! I'm August 4th and I'm probably gonna have some kind of panic attack before then. lol! I've switched surgeons and subsequently procedure type all over the last month. It's been a long time coming I'm just ready to get this chapter of my life rolling.
