Surgery tomorrow!

I am having surgery tomorrow and I couldn't be more nervous! I'm terrified of a complication. I have been on my pre op diet for two weeks and I haven't cheated once. I have a great support system and an amazing surgeon who I trust, BUT my nerves are just everywhere! Any advice that helps you stay calm before surgery??

  • Thank you so much! I'm trying to stay positive and think about why I started this process in the first place. I'm definitely excited but overwhelmed at the same time. My surgery is at 9:30am so hoping

I was out of my mind worried. But it was so quick I am still amazed. Less then an hour. The first two days are easy because of the painkillers in the hospital. My surgery was 2:00 Pm so I ended up staying two days. Release papers are signed by by doctors early in the morning.

I tried to visualize how good I would feel once the weight was gone and took comfort on the fact that at this stage it was out of my hands. My job was to be ready and nothing else.

Just keep going over all the good things you want to do once you lose weight! My therapist actually had me keep a list so if I had any doubts or needed a boost - I could easily refer back to it. Stay strong!!!

I had my surgery at 9:00 and was home by 4:00.

The only pain I had was the gas pain. The first two days was rough but then I felt great.

Surgery was on a Thursday and I returned to work on Monday.

Keep us updated!!! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Prayers. Keep us posted.
