Here's to be beginnings

I'm new here! I have been considering vsg for about a year now. My husband is active duty military, so I'll be going through the local MTF. I'm a full time student, so I'm hoping to have the surgery in August, so I'm fully adjusted when I go back for my senior year.

I've worked with my counselor for over a year on several failed diets and the resulting depression. Over the last year I've gained over 50 lbs :-/ I've taken a nutrition class through my college, and browsed this forum for a few months.

This site has been super informative and I can't wait to start the journey. My appointment with my PCP is Wednesday and I'm hoping for a quick referral to the bariatric unit in the hospital. If anybody has any advice I would really appreciate it!

I'd grab a copy of this and start working through it: https://www.amazon.com/Emotional-First-Aid-Kit-Practical/dp/0976852659?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0

Anyone who has been depressed and had other emotional issues really needs to get those settled, and you can do it while you are jumping through all the hoops to get approved.
