Chicago bash, anyone?

Recommended Posts

OK, I'm not thinking February for this -- but would anyone be interested in a Chicago bash? Maybe next summer?

Let's see if anyone's interested, and we can take it from there. There's tons of stuff to do for everyone from music nuts to power shoppers; it's easy to get around on public transportation; and the whole place comes alive when we thaw out. It's centrally located for Midwesterners (that is, equally inconvenient for everybody), and flights are relatively cheap because Chicago's a major airline hub.

Attractions: the Art Institute of Chicago, Ravinia music festival, jazz and blues clubs, hanging out or power-walking along the lakefront, more museums, Michigan Avenue stores that will wring out your wallet, and did I mention pizza? (Plus the cheezborger-cheezborger-cheezborger joint that John Belushi made famous.)

Interested? Suggestions?

I'm game too - I'm right in Milwaukee so I wouldn't have a problem. Otherwise - we can do Wisconsin - there are all kinds of festivals going on during the summer including Summerfest and State Fair or even Wisconsin Dells.........

Count me in. I am in Peoria and am in Chicago all the time. Infact I was just there. I was one of the crazy people that hit Mich Ave the day after Thanksgiving. My daughter loves and of course I left a paycheck at American Girl Doll store. Let me know if you need help. I am a meeting planner and if the hotels are not busy I might be able to get a decent rate for all of us.

Glad to hear that so many people are already interested! Momhappe, that's a great offer on the hotels. Let's see if there's more comments over the next few weeks, then we can start thinking about a date.

We've had a great response to this thread. Anyone up for the Fourth of July weekend (Sat. - Mon., July 2-4)? Or else maybe July 30th-31st?

I can't go the 4th weekend. :) We go on our big cross country vacation to SD and Yellowstone and leave July 1st and won't be back until July 16th or 17th. I could come to the 30th. :) I wanna go to a bash and meet everybody.... PALEEEEEEAAAASEEEEE don't do it on the 4th weekend... Pretty PALEEEAAAASSSSEEEEE. :)

Actually, the 30th-31st works better for me, too. And I think it will probably be easier to book hotels that weekend; lots of people come into Chicago on the 4th to watch the fireworks at the lakefront. Anyone else for July 30-31?

Fran, it was great talking to you! It's nice to know another local bandster. Does July 30-31 work for you? Just think how thin you'll be by then!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
