Social Isolation

I am watching the supersized version of My 600 Pound Life (Chay/Lola and Pauline). One of the subtitles they put up just said that: some researchers believe that social isolation is more detrimental to health than obesity and immobility.

One of the blessings of this site is that it does give many of us a regular opportunity to interact socially (even if it is virtually).

Yes. This is one of my favorite social sites. I like my own company, but I do fret a bit about spending much of my free time alone.

Especially now, widowed, and getting ready to retire even more from part time to almost no time.

Don't really want to be out much. Am I just a real introvert, or somewhat depressed and don't want to go out to bars and restaurants etc? Don't know.

"Getting a hobby" may not be THE answer, but it can be an answer or at least a way to be involved in social interactions.

....but not wanting to go out is where the loop begins.
