Red skin around wounds

I am 2 days post op and just wondering if anyone else had redness around wounds without infection? Doc said probably just a skin reaction because the wounds look great.

Probably normal healing. If you notice puss or anything but clear discharge then notify your doctor.

I had small, fiercely itchy welts around the incisions because of an allergic reaction to the tape that was used on the bandages. Removing the tape (at that point it was safe for me to do so) and putting a tiny dab of hydrocortisone cream on helped.

I had redness too. It went away with no problems.. skin was irritated..

I tried the hydrocortisone cream as suggested and the redness is gone! I guess it was just irritation. Thanks everyone for your help!

I had my surgery on Tuesday also... And my main incision above my belly button started off bruised the first day and now it is super red.
