May 24 Surgery Day

So excited and nervous! Is anyone else having surgery on my date? I would like us all in one thread to give our own experiences. It'll be great! We will all be in pain at the same time. [emoji1]

So month 4 and I am down 60lbs! Unfortunately I now need to get my gallbladder out. Seems I can't catch a break! Although skinny is feeling sooo good! How is everyone else doing?

It's been a while since I've been on here. I hear the gallbladder giving you trouble after was is common. Did you doc put you on gallbladder medication immediately after surgery?

I'm doing great!!! I love to shop now....it's just an unbelievable feeling to put on cloths and still need comfortable. I'm down 55 since surgery. I have tons of energy.

Still so tired? I'm sad about that. I'm sure they have checked your blood work and you're still sticking to your Protein intake. Are you possibly just simply not getting to bed early enough? Do you have sleep apnea?

Wait, WHAT???? 88 lbs???? That's fantastic!!! I bet your cloths are falling off.

I'm envious. I still feel pretty beaten after work and getting up in the morning is always a hassle.

@@Pup no sleep apnea, having hard time getting in my protein, seems everytime i eat meat i feel very sick, only want fruits and veggies...i have been eating nuts but know that is not enough...before surgery wasnt much of an meat eater, did buy some protein shakes gonna start drinking them...but still losing weight...

How is cottage cheese or eggs tasting to you?

I just bought a bag of boneless frozen teriyaki chicken thighs from Sam's that are just delicious

Damn, I'm noticing some reflux again... By far not as bad as it was before surgery but still.

I had my follow-up appointment on Monday and told the team. They said I should find out if the reflux is triggered by certain behavior since it's not bothering me every day (e. g. eating too late or certain foods) and then to make an appointment for a gastroscopy to take a look at things. Since I also had hernia repair there might be a problem with that again.

I have to admit I'm quite a bit scared and I'm thinking about possible catastrophes a good deal since a few days. (Yes, admittedly I'm one of these people who can catastrophize things up to esophageal cancer.) Dammit...

I take PPI and also Ursofalk (in case it's a mix of bile reflux and acid reflux). Haven't been bothered with volume reflux since the surgery so it's still way better than before.

Yes, I had hernia repair but there's still the possibility of a recurrent hernia. That's why they want to take a look. Catastrophizing is awful and I'm really good at it. It took a while to calm myself down but it's still kind of nagging in the back of my brain. "What if there will still be reflux and then barrett's esophagus and worse?! What if I need another surgery to get an RNY anastomosis? And what if then there is still a problem?!"

I guess you know what I'm getting at.
