May 24 Surgery Day

So excited and nervous! Is anyone else having surgery on my date? I would like us all in one thread to give our own experiences. It'll be great! We will all be in pain at the same time. [emoji1]

Great! @@macdonaldkelly !!! I managed to have 2oz of low fat ref ride Beans... My stomach is a little heavy feeling but that's it!

I would like to talk about how I think about food... Pre op, my thoughts were all about how to get, make, or eat food and making sure I got my "fill." Now pre op, my fill was WAY beyond a serving! I still have that mentality now and am working tirelessly to change it... I need help, tips, motivation... Lay it on me!

I learned today that my body is NOT ready for a bra. The heavy weight of my breasts made my chest hurt. I just want to lie on my bed for the rest of the day!

My first post op is tomorrow and I bought cottage cheese because that is what I want to eat first. Also, mashed potatoes.. but I'll find out tomorrow what I can eat. I'm looking forward to having cottage cheese.

@ try a sleep bra helped relieve a bit without the pushing very comfy I got mine on Amazon for like 13 bucks...I have never ate cottage cheese I'm so afraid to try...I want mashed too have to wait another week I believe (according to my book anyway)

I just had my follow up and I am down 15lbs since surgery. I was cleared to go back part time to work. I must say that I am feeling pretty worn out after today's activities maybe a week of not eating is catching up to me. I am looking forward to the soft food stage in two weeks. I read someone on here are Pasta and chicken two weeks after surgery and the chicken was stuck! Her scare is enough to keep me on line!

15 pounds, fantastic!

@@Pup are you out of the hospital?

Yes, I'm out of the hospital....still have a brick in me to pass lol.

I go in to see the surgeon tomorrow for my checkup and barium swallow...... we will talk about the poop situation also.

By far this constipation has been the worst part of this whole thing, everything else has been easy.

Everything goes good tomorrow I get my drain out, which will be nice and I'm so excited about when I get to start pureed food

Is anyone feeling discomfort in the middle of your chest? I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow, but I'm curious to see if anyone else is feeling it. It's bothersome. It only feels better when I arch my back. I'm thinking maybe I need to stop sleeping on my side for now?

Well it's officially 7 days since my surgery last Thursday.. I came off my pain medication day 3 because I didn't like the way it made me feel. No pain, my scabs have almost all fallen away to reveal tiny neat little scars (all except the furthest left) and it's almost as if the surgery didn't happen.

The only thing I'm having trouble with, is realising that the decision i made to have this surgery was a little.. Quick. I'm 29 and I paid for my surgery myself.. Privately, so within the space of 1 month of deciding I wanted the surgery, I had the procedure.

I kinda feel like I'm not myself anymore, I didn't realise how much my life revolved around food from the moment I woke up to the moment I slept, I kinda miss it.. But I do know ultimately this was the best decision, I just maybe need to get new hobbies or something

I went through 9 months of prep and i knew on day 1 I wasn't fully ready I think it's because no matter how much you prepare until you actually experience it you don't fully understand. I know some of the girls have felt the head hunger plenty of times, especially me. It gets better just try and hold on to why you did this and when you see the results your doubts will slowly disappear. It gets better
