  1. Hi all, It's been a while since I've posted.. I can't believe it, my hunger has come back with a vengeance all of a sudden! I was a miracle case really, I started this journey at 260 and within 5/6 months I'd lost 100 pounds and was at goal of 160. But now.. I've started to gain (only 3 pounds) but it's gaining none the less. People say your tastebuds change after surgery, mine have stayed exactly the same. I can tolerate bread, pasta, rice, fizzy drinks etc. In fact.. everything that's bad for me goes down pretty easy, it's things like protein that I struggle with. Is there a way to reset my sleeve and start over? I miss that feeling of never thinking about food.. I'm back to waking up in the morning and instantly wondering what's for breakfast. Help! Really? That's not good.. have you mentioned it to your surgeon? 9 weeks out you shouldn't be hungry.. it could possibly be head hunger however??

    My Hunger Has Returned!!

I think you're right, I was having zero carbs at the beginning like the bare minimum and now I'm going crazy on them. (Because I had to stop losing weight it was the only thing that slowed it down).. You're right though, going to focus on drinking more liquids and my protein,.. I've never tried jerky before it's not like a common thing over here but I'll give it a shot! And yes!! Protein bars and shakes are the devil now they make my stomach turn [emoji31][emoji31] ty for the advice though. When people say your appetite comes back you don't believe it.. and then it does.
  6. Hey, I had my surgery on the 26th of may, I was 260 pounds, as of today just a little over the 5 month mark I weigh 169. Almost 100 pounds in 5 months (wth?) My appetite just has not returned, I have many days.. like today, where I am literally forcing myself to eat something to the point it makes me feel sick. I find drinking 2 litres a day of Water a constant, daily struggle (I manage about 1ltr plus water from food??) I just want to know, does it get better? Will my appetite return? Will I be able to eat more than 3 tablespoons of food eventually?? I never thought I'd say this but I'm concerned, will the weight loss slow down? I'm still losing 2-3 pounds per week at the moment with no signs of that changing and I'm scared that if I can't start eating more I'm going to get ill?? Just a little Enlightenment from some veterans and long-term sleevers would be amazing. Jess Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  8. I started this journey at 260 pounds, I was unhappy.. Depressed and at an all time low, I had my surgery on the 26th of May 2016.. It's a tiny bit over the 3 month mark and after a 2 week stall I can happily say the scale went to 198.5 pounds! I had a little cry earlier when I saw it.. I just wanted to say thank you to every single one of you who post on this site and share your advice and experience, it's helped me so so much! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I have a few sweets if I want them occasionally. I just have a handful of candy now instead of the whole bag. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Drinking after eating

At first it was annoying to have to wait 30 minutes before drinking.. but i tried a few times to drink sooner and it doesn't end well. (Usually a choking sensation followed by throwing up).. I'm 5 months out now and it's pretty easy to wait, it becomes second nature. The 30mins no drinking before eating rule I do not follow, I drink right up to just before I take my first bite and everything's fine. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Do you count carbs?

I don't watch my carbs at all.. I did at first when I started my journey but I ended up blacking out and rushed to the hospital where I was advised I NEEDED to eat carbs. Since then I have been eating complex carbs, or carbs from fruit. I don't eat bread, rice, potatoes or Pasta.. Ever. I've lost 80 pounds in 5 months. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    No drinking with meals?

I literally can't drink after I've eaten. Every time I've tried it I'm sick, get the foamies or feel like I'm choking.. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Problems with chicken?

I have the same thing with cold meats, cold beef, cold salmon. Dry chicken too.. I've found any meat that has been slow cooked in a sauce goes down much easier! I also have found that cutting it up into tiny pieces in a small container helps (think baby food).. It tastes the same but much easier to digest! All I drink is Water and flavoured water. Been like that since surgery over 3 months ago.. Nothing else really tastes good anymore, all my old favourites are too sweet and sickly Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How often do you weigh yourself?

Initially I weighed myself daily and then I hit a stall, I found it was demotivating and depressing me.. So after 3 weeks out I stopped and started weighing myself weekly.. Love my weekly weigh-ins! It's what works best for you and how mentally strong you are to see the scale only drop 0.5 every day or what have you.. The choice is yours!
