May 24 Surgery Day

So excited and nervous! Is anyone else having surgery on my date? I would like us all in one thread to give our own experiences. It'll be great! We will all be in pain at the same time. [emoji1]

Hello everyone, i had terrible gas pains the first two days and nausea! I was in so much pain! My doctor is not allowing me to go home until tomorrow. Today my goal is to focus on my fluids.Take care everyone! This is not as easy as I thought it would be, but i will make it.

Okay everyone, I found that warm decaf tea really helped settle my tummy! Maybe it'll help you!!

Oh yes tea! My doctor told me it was okay to take peppermint tea. The smooth move one that helps digestion. I need to send someone to go and buy it for me.. i cannot tolerate the car right now. Lucky for me, i only live 10 minutes away from the hospital. I admire anyone riding more than 10 minutes.

Sorry TMI... I think the hospital meds were keeping me from passing gas. I managed to pass 3 small ones, but it made SUCH a difference. I'm glad I forced myself up for a walk at 5 am. I've been walking around for 30 minutes trying to get more out.

And I've taken in 2 ounces of Protein i plan on taking in all my protein before anything else. My doc said I can have fat free lactate milk so if I finish this cup, that will be 64 grams of protein. Yey.

Hi ladies I hope you're all well these last two days were terrible today I finally feel okay I get to go home my oxygen has been a lil low I have used the pain meds but not every 4 hours like the last two days. I am burping a lot but no gas from the other end hopefully once I get my Protein in it'll help I miss my son can't wait to get home n be in my bed...I hope you're all doing well the hardest part is over

I never knew how much having to sip liquid would control my life! I feel like it is all I have done today and I have only had 20oz!

For sure!

I have been working on my bottle of 23 oz for over an hour and only half way down.... It's insane

I'm finally home & going thru much of the same as you guys. Can't wait til this time next week, should be better. But all in all, I'm happy we did it and we'll see the beautiful rainbow, soon. :)

I agree @@Peach55 ... I have read before that for the first two weeks, surgery is very much regretted. As I'm waking around my house, I keep saying to myself, "it's worth it... it's worth it... it's worth it" these gas pains won't last and a healthy future is right around the corner! Keep up the good work, my friends!
