I had coffee the whole time. I needed something or I would have turned into a mass murderer. I had black iced coffee.

  • I did. I used then and still use now, Splenda and sometimes Stevia. I used pre-mixed vanilla or chocolate Protein shakes as the creamer. Sure was a great way to get past the hunger.

I didn't only because I knew I had to go cold-turkey with the caffeine for 30 days post-op and I figured it would be easier to make that transition as part of my pre-op diet. As long as you aren't putting sugar in your coffee or using sugary creamers, you should be fine.

I broke my caffeine habit by first eliminating my diet cokes...(I use to have 2 a day).....after a week of that then I mixed half decaf and regular coffee and had that for a week....the next week it was all decaf.....and so when my pre-op diet started I only drank decaf. During this process I only had a couple of days with a headache and since then it's been a breeze!

It depends on your doc. Mine said two cups of black coffee a day were fine. Either decaf or caf.

Just make it decaf and you should be okay
