Got Rumors?

Hi Everyone,

I hadn't planned on checking in for a while, then I learned of a rumor floating around about Dr. Lopez in Tijuana. I know some of you have commented that in the past the aftercare service was not up to your standards and that some of you have had problems with healing, acid reflux, even rejection.

The ones who have had to endure these problems are good people I'm sure. Sometimes in the stress of living through it, venting is a healthy part of the recovery process. I want to encourage those who are venting to keep commentary honest and accurate.

Since I have been a patient with Dr. Lopez, there have been staff changes surgery center changes and policy changes, all of which were set into motion to correct the very concerns of those who've had experiences not up to their standards/expectations.

My thought is that if Dr. Lopez responded to these concerns by being pro-active and made necessary changes, does that not show he is concerned? Does that not show he cares about his reputation? Does that not show he cares about his patients? Change is often made to improve the outcomes of things. Is change some sort of admission of wrong doing? Or, Does change arise form a need to improve outcomes? you decide.

From this site, I have yet to hear from anyone who has "visited" his office since June 04. I have been there 4 times since and all of the new systems are firmly in place and working well. I have had a chance to actually speak with--in person, to other patients men and women, who feel the office has provided fine service in a caring environment. Some of these people had their bands inserted 3 years ago.

As far as rumors are concerned, they are merely unverified comments, usually hearsay. You owe it to yourself to see the best, and receive care from the best doctors your money can buy.

Sincerely,

Margret

Margaret can I ask you onle last question before you go??

Why is it that the only time you post here is in Lopez's defense? You never reply to threads about other members here, It's always about you and Lopez. That does not make a very kind caring person. This is a board for emotional and physical support to all members. Not just yourself and not to defend Lopez. We all think are own surgeons are great but the facts and patients are out there on Lopez Margaret. Wake Up!!

Lisa,

This is what I'm talking about.

Penni wrote, What if a bunch of us filed a class action lawsuit against Inamed

in an earlier posting.

Margret

Um you see Margret you took one sentence out of context. I was speaking rhetorically of course and wanted to see what Don Mills would say. SHESH!!!

Margret, Penni's statement about filing a class-action lawsuit was a "rhetorical statement." Please look up "rhetorical" and re-read this entire post. Now, why won't you answer my question that I've asked about 20 times now? Buehler... ANYBODY? WHY WON'T SHE TELL ME WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE?

Penni, I just saw your comment agreeing with Leatha. I'll definitely try to contact that lady and see if I can be of help at all. She didn't seem terribly knowledgeable about medical stuff, so maybe someone who can "talk the lingo" can help. I'm a little concerned that they haven't ordered a scope for her already, but maybe she misunderstood the doctor. I'll definitely get in touch and see if I can help.

In the meantime, I return y'all to your regularly scheduled thread wherein we're all wondering what on earth Margret's talking about.

I was looking for this thread earlier today and got really mad when it wasn't here. I find this all very interesting...and I'm sure a bit frightening to any newbie out there.

If you are new to the band, the process, the pros, the cons, the good, the bad, and the ugly...PLEASE KNOW THAT WHAT IS BEING DISCUSSED HERE IS NOT THE BAND ITSELF BUT A PARTICULAR SURGEON!!! We are asking the manufacturer of the band to be accountable for allowing a surgeon who has a sketchy record to continue placing bands- but not the band itself or other surgeons.

So, keep this thread in perspective, new people.

To Margretr-

I've met every one of the people you are harrassing on this board in person- and you have no idea who you are dealing with. These are strong women who, despite all of the troubles and stress and sadness they have faced with the band ,are the biggest supporters of it and the people who want it/have it. It breaks my heart to think that they can't have it as "easy" as the rest of us...that a doctor has the power to give them a gift and then take it away. Please be compassionate and understand that their anger is extremely justified, and that they are leaders- either formally or informally- of this forum. I for one could not have gotten through some real rough patches without their support. Leave them alone.

Now that I think about it- I think it's been a good thing that Margretr brought up the topic...I think that a bunch of women pissed off can do great things. I'd like to sign up to contact whomever I should at INAMED, the government, Dr. Lopez. I want to do my part to support you all.

Just a thought,

Not to get off the subject, you guys might actually be fun to out drinking with. Michelle, stop trying to talk like a sister it's so not the O.C.

Margret

OK someone tell Margret that she has gone off the deep end. And she STILL hasn't answered Lisa's many questions.

They call it 'bluffing' in poker, Lisa. They call it 'threats' in law. This woman has clearly let her typing overload her derriere and she doesn't know enough to just disappear.

I hate being like this, but I'm PMSy and I have a wound that's been oozing for over six months. Call me irritable. Leatha is right - LBT is home, warm, caring, safe. Sorry girls, I let the Marg Monster get the better of me. It's hard to sit, stay and heal when someone threatens you. But seriously, folks, why won't she tell me who these people are that she plans on using against me. What's she cooking up? I'm kinda scared that the girl's gonna have me whacked or somethin'.

Ha ha Penni, "brilliant minds" and all... we typed the same thing same time - again!

Lisa,

I just saw Ferris Buehler's Day Off the other day!! Thats one of my all time favorite teen flicks. That and Pretty in Pink. Oh to be young and slim again...

Love Margret I'm not mad anymore, I'm through venting

I just sent her a PM asking her if she really wants to go drinking or meet I am game. I would be happy to meet her and discuss Lopez stories. I am all for offering the olive leaf of friendship here.

Cookoo..Cookoo..Cookoo

This girl is whacked. Who in their right mind would go drinking with Margaret? Raise your right hand if it is a YES...left hand for a NO

Michelle, I will go. It would be fun don't you think?
