Ok so I'm 1 week post op and for the last 3 days tummy wasn't feeling well at all. Mummy recommended beef or lamb bone broth. And voalah! 15 minutes later I was really feeling much better.. In fact 1 hour later I was feeling hungry again and for the first time I was able to drink my Protein shake whole. Just thought of sharing this.
The recipe I used is:-
- beef or lamb bones (mummy says they're better than chicken bones)
- 1 stick of carrot roughly chopped
- 1 whole head of garlic cut in half
- 1 big onion roughly chopped and don't bother to peel.
- 2 bay leaves
- few pepper corns
- lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
- some herbs of your choice (I just used the store bought mixed herbs)
- a pinch of salt
In a large pressure cooker brown the bones first then add the carrots, garlic and onions, add the remaining ingredients then add Water and close tightly. Let cook for around an hour. If not using a pressure cooker I guess it will take between 3-4 hours..
And enjoy the broth
