Itchy

I was sleeved on 4/11 my stomach around my stitches is really itchy my dad keeps telling me it's good that it means they are healing but it's really itchy is there something I can put on it for the itching or should I just call the doctor on Monday

if it's really bothering you then yes, call. do you have glue over the stitches? I did, and couldn't put anything on them until the glue came off on it's own. after that I use coconut oil as a lotion.

Yes, if your itching is driving you crazy, give your team a call. Otherwise you could scratch yourself in your sleep &subconsciously hurt yourself.

I remember when I was a child &had the chicken pox or measles and my mother would tell me to scratch my head instead of my arms or face. It worked because it took my mind off of the itch by giving me something proactive to do. Try it--can't hurt, right?

I would think that it is a sign that your body is healing, but call your team and ask. That way you'll know what to do .

Prayers going up

I had terrible itching, only it wasn't from my incisions. Turns out I had a localized skin reaction to the heparin injections.
