You need to ask your surgical team. I wasn't allowed any raw vegetables for six months, but my team has a more conservative plan than most. Also, I know you didn't ask this, but this is a great time

OMG right there with you. I'd kill for a cobb salad. I think you'd be best off asking your surgeon. Mine is pretty strict I think with 1 month on full liquids before even starting mushies. I'm putting off the question until I'm at least 2 months out so I don't feel disappointed with the length of waiting.

All that being said I am happy to be down 20 lbs already so the salad will have to wait lol.

I am 7 months out and still haven't had a salad, just a few baby spinach leaves.

I have tried many times (as I crave it also), but once I finish the Protein portion, I never have any room for salad.

I could forgo the protein for the salad, but it would mean I wouldn't hit my protein goal.

Also, I know you didn't ask this, but this is a great time to learn to put cravings aside and eat to satisfy nutritional needs rather than random cravings. Good luck!

I'm close to seven months out and still can't really eat much salad, mostly because of the bulk of the lettuce and vegetables. I find if I get the Protein I need I can only eat a small portion of salad. If I try to eat a bigger salad I either end up picking off all the protein first or not getting enough of it in the meal.

We have a salad bar at our work cafeteria and I do occasionally prepare a small side salad to go along with a chicken breast or some other lean protein, making sure I focus on the protein and just eat the salad as a side dish.

i have been trying to add in green veggies and have been less than successful. I am 5 weeks out. I tried zucchini about 2 weeks ago..not good and tried Brussels sprouts yesterday - I had some leaves and 1/2 a brussels sprout with/after my turkey and it was too much :( I got the back up full feeling and couldn't finish my last ounce of Protein.. it tasted good though!

the answer is going to vary from plan to plan. At 4 weeks I was allowed.
