Great Question!!

Ok for me personally things to have on hand at home:

*Timer so you can drink every 10 minutes – phone works too

*Several pairs of comfy pants/shorts – I changed frequently during the day

* Things to do at home – movies, Netflix agenda, books, etc…

* Set up of where you are going to sleep – couch, bed, etc…

Shopping:

*Protein shakes

* Water – if you don’t like your own Water

* Clear liquids to drink (you will get sick of water)

* I personally bought Isopure and mixed it with equal parts of Powerade Zero and water (gave me some Protein in the first few days)

*sugar free Jello

* sugar free popsicles

* Sugar free fudge sticks

*chicken broth

Good Luck!!!

Completely missed the vitamins!!

I prefer the Flintstones Vitamins. I take one in the morning and one at night. I also take a generic chew-able Calcium and Vitamin B12.< /p>

Taramarie.....are you on a liquid diet? My surgery is 4/18, and I drink Atkins 2 carb Protein drinks. There are 5 or 6 different drinks, and I have 5 per day, for 800 calories. I also drink broth. Beef, vegetable, and chicken. broth never tasted so good. Are you talking after surgery? If u are, I haven't started that yet. My wife will do that, according to the doctor's instructions. Any other questions, I'll b here.

Kranky thank you so much. This is so helpful! Now for your flinstone Vitamins do you take the flintstones complete? So I had one nutritionist tell me just one a day. Then the other day at my pre op class the nutritionist said "flintsones are made for kids" lol I felt like an idiot the way she said it. My other nutritionist told me one a day and take it with my kids so we're in the routine together. So then the new NUT said you can take it but I'd have to take 2. So you are taking 2 of them one during the day and one at night. My instructions on the label of the Vitamin says adults and children over 4 take 1 a day. I'm going to have to ask call them and double check as well. That's what I bought so I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Hi!!! So my surgeon actually doesn't require a pre op diet. I just can't eat or drink anything after midnight the night before the operation.

I used ProCare bariatric Vitamins, Bariatric Advantage tropical orange calcium citrate chews, dissolving B12 and Biotin supplement I got at costco. Word to the wise: pick up some Miralax or benefiber. Postop Constipation sneaks up on you and it's easier to just start taking something from the get go rather than trying to get things going again!

I read about this Vitamin B12 nasal spray from nascobal it's $25 a month I read and you get all you Vitamins from there. I'm going to check it out. I emailed my NUT and she said that it's fine. I'm going to look more into it tonight.

I was told about that nasal spray as well at my surgery consult. You take it once a week, one spray in one nostril. Thankfully my insurance covers it so it'll be delivered to me along with other Vitamins each month for $25 and free delivery. Without insurance I believe it was around $70 plus delivery.

Yes you do. When I get home I can find this 1-800 number for you to call. You give them your doctor's office info and they'll send them a request for a prescription.

      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

        That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
