Hi guys,

I have a question, I got banded on Feb.11 2016 I barely got my band filled for the first time. But since the surgery I never feel full or even close to it. You know that feeling of just being satisfied unfortunately I googled things and I'm so scared that something is wrong. I'm going to get it tightened again this week. Can someone relate to this? Some have said its just the fact of getting to that point where your band is the perfect fit but it takes time. Thanks guys!

You're describing the usual process. Saline is added gradually so that you have some time to see how each addition works for you. It's better to go slowly than too aggressively. I'm sure you were given some Water to drink last time and will be with each subsequent addition. Even if the Water goes doen comfortably, it is possible that you'll find the band too tight after you get home. The last thing you want is to have to go back later in the day or the next day to have some of the saline removed.

If you're expecting that the band will be filled eventually, you're 99% incorrect. It's rare that a band is adjusted to that high a degree. The amount of saline isn't even relevant. The only thing that matters is that there is enough for the band to be effective. You'll find many people comparing their levels, but it's only small talk and curiosity. A 10cc band with 5cc saline will work for one, but be pointless for the next person.

About four months out, I said to my surgeon 'this stinks.. Just feels like a diet'. He said just wait. He was right

Patience. I know, it sucks. But it'll kick in soon! Promise!

I will add, although I can say I am comfortable in the Green Zone, I have never "Felt Full"

No hunger, cravings and no desire to eat, yes...but a physical feeling of being full? Never.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
