C section vs VGS

I have had 3 c sections, two were emergency and my last was planned. I have also had my gall bladder removed. I survived those just fine.

I am terrified I can't survive the sleeve surgery. I think its all in my head.

Can anyone share their experiences with these verses the VGS?

c section MUCH harder recovery. Hysterectomy much harder recover, both totally worth it. The sleeve was nothing compared to them.

  • I had 2 c-secs and recovered pretty quickly, was up walking the night of.... This was less painful then the c-secs in my opinion, the soreness is comparable but not the same incision pain, if that mak

  • My sleeve was ezzy pezzy compared to my 2 c-sections. Plus you don't have any night feedings and can concentrate on just your recovery! I have much less pain and more energy after sleeve! Good luck

I have had 2 c-sections as well, the 2nd one was 5 years and 3 months ago! I was wondering how much easier this recovery would be than those. I think the diet and liquid I take will be tougher to deal with than recovery of a laparoscopic surgery.

I've had 12 female surgerys

Last being a complete hysterectomy

Emergency gallbladder removal while pregnant

2 c sections

I hope this somewhat helps prep me lol

My gullbladder was worst thing I've ever had done!!

I will add this. after the surgery the only thing that was harder with VSG was the liquid diet. :-) after the c section and hysterectomy I could eat. but the surgery it's self and surgical recovery was much much much easier with VSG.

Sooo glad to hear !!! ????

Emergency gallbladder removal while pregnant oh god I can't even imagine. You must have been a wreck. If you can do that I'm gonna go with you can do anything.

I can now say that the pain is very similar to c-section. The fear of moving wrong because of the pain at incision point is what's getting to me. And the belly full of gas! I thought I would be much more mobil by now. (2 days post op)

@ please update in a few days to when you are feeling more "normal" after surgery. I am curious to see how long recovery takes to get back to where you feel okay.

I will let you know!!! Still pretty uncomfortable today. Hoping tomorrow will be a lot better. I was at least able to sleep in bed pretty comfortably last night.

@@AmberMc03 I still have a bit of pain in my right side. It's mostly when sitting down or getting up. Getting into bed. And I can't bend down to pick anything up lower than my knee. I saw the dr yesterday. He said he had to put a couple extra stitches under the incision because he was worried about me getting a hernia. He said not everyone gets them. And he thinks it's pulling on my muscle and will take about four weeks to feel better.

I never had a csection but my rny surgery was way easier and less painful recovery than my births. It was also less painful than my gallbladder surgery, but that was a complicated mess from it rupturing, so not the best comparison, but I totally think of you handled a csection or two that this will be easier than you think. I was expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised I was even able to climb in our giant van to go home without any worries.

@ - that's good to know and I'm glad you are on the right track. I'm getting more and more nervous and I'm still 2 months out at least.

You will be fine! Honestly if it weren't for this side pain the recovery was pretty easy. I'm not tired or in any other pain. Really not bad at all. Two months will be here before you know if and you'll be on the other side of the surgery and just taking one day at a time. Best of luck to you!
