18 days until surgery. Still no word from insurance. I am just floating in la la land waiting for news.

Not uncommon. Keep an open line of communication with your surgery center. If you can't get answers that way then call your insurance company direct and see if there is a delay.

Start preop low carb diet in two days. Don't have a clue what I will eat. I am a carb addict and I think this will be much more difficult than liquids. Already weaning off coffee.

Low carb weekend. Went to a restaurant and didn't pig out. Just wasn't tempted. Choosing what to order was difficult but I think I made food choices and left a lot on the plate. Six more days of low carb then two days of liquids only. Rhis hasn't been as rough as I anticipated.

So....finished the low carb part. Two days of liquids the surgery! I think I have done well following the plan and not as difficult as I anticipated. I did have some ice cream today as part of my last supper.
