What the heck does this mean?!

Finally got the word that I am approved for surgery. Celebration time right?! Not so fast my friend...they denied me for some type of pump 64999 is the billing code. Can't get my insurance coordinator on the phone to explain for me. What does this mean? Anyone know?

      My insurance coordinator called. She said not to worry about the pump (the same thing @@reree6898 mentioned), she said Aetna didn't approve it because they are not a facility and didn't have the code

      @@BLERDgirl I have an extremely high pain tolerance, I gave birth to all 4 of my kids at home with a midwife and the last one weighed 12lbs! Lol. So I say lets do this!! @@VSGAnn2014 That is so enco

      Pain just wasn't that bad. I never used pain meds once I woke up. Nothing through the IV or orally. I have to say it helped tremendously with being more alert and able to walk because I wasn't drugged

    By pain pump I mean the kind that hooks up to your IV and you can press a button to self administer a dose. That is what I had.

    I had that. They finally unhooked it because I wasn't suing it.

    I am scheduled for surgery 11/19/15 and my surgeon has informed me that I will have a PCA (patient- controlled analgesia) pump afterwards..so I can manage my own post-op pain. Some insurances do not cover PCA... That may be the pump / detail that is causing a glitch. Just a thought...

She said not to worry about the pump (the same thing @@reree6898 mentioned), she said Aetna didn't approve it because they are not a facility and didn't have the code they wanted, but that it will be resubmitted the day of surgery by the hospital and will be approved.

    So the great news is I am approved and my surgery date is Dec 8th!!!!!! Whoooo hoooo!!!!
