Drinking water 1 week post op

Tomorrow I make 1 week since sugery I have been able to have 4 oz of clear liquid and full liquid but when it comes to water I feel it's such a challenge has any one gone through that. Is there and tips to help me drink more water?

Today is my 6th day since surgery.

The first couple of days it was work to get 2-3 24oz cups of icewater down.

The last two days, however, I seem to be able to drink as much as I want. I'm up and walking to the bathroom every hour.

The key has been to have a glass within reach at all times. I continue to take small swallows all day. It is very natural and occurs easily.

Water was harder for me at first too. Try different temperatures:cold, room temperature, warm, and see if any of those works better. I had better luck with room temperature water. You might also want to turn adding water enhancers like crystal light, Mio drops, or even infusing it with lemon, cucumber, mint, or something similar. You can also try making decaf tea or an herbal infusion (herb tea).

Just keep trying. sugar-free hello and sugar-free Popsicles can also help you get your fluids in, too.

It does get better.

Water enhancers helped immensely. You may also be more comfortable with room temperature water at this point as ice cold water can cause cramping.
