Is a blender needed?

Getting close to my surgery date - October 19th. Is a blender necessary for the different stages of the post-op diet? What one would you recommend?

I use a blender for my protein shakes. I find an immersion blender works best to keep the shakes from getting foamy. I used a mini food processor for purees.

I also have an immersion blender. Much easier to clean, etc. Mine came with an attachment for a mini food processor.

I never did use one. With what little I ate I got through the purée/ mushy stage on refried bean, ricotta cheese, and soft foods like that. It couldn't hurt to get one.

i plan on using my nutra ninja its awesome and makes shakes blends purees and all sorts of things

A blender makes it easier, but no it's not necessary. I had a nutra bullet long before WLS, but I like to cook and have a bunch of appliances and gadgets.
