Looking for the right protein drink...

Does any one have any suggestions for a good protein drink for after surgery? Was just introduced to Tasty Whey and Eat The Bear brands at a little store. They didn't have any samples to try. Looking for what has worked for YOU.

  • Thank you, @catwoman7. True, about the different answers. But it gives me someplace to start and, hopefully, weeds out anything that might be downright yucky. Lol.

  • Omg I have to tell you I just got my Inspire pumpkin pie powder in the mail yesterday, and it's the best yet!! So so yummy!!! I'll be ordering more of these! http://www.bariatriceating.com/product-c

I like chocolate. Right now I have Syntrax Nectar in Chocolate truffle, and vanilla. I use the vanilla and flavor it however I want, by adding pumpkin pie flavored stevia drops. You can also flavor using Torani sugar free syrups (many different flavors!) I first started by ordering samples, which was a lot of fun. Recently I have heard people raving about the Inspire brand protein powder, so I just ordered Inspire pumpkin pie protein powder, because I love anything pumpkin. See photo below from my bariatric pantry.com where you can order a sample pack for 19.99.

The Vitamin Shoppe near me also had small sample bags, but not a lot...

Thank you, @@Grace2115! Didn't even know there was a bariatric pantry. Good to have that resource and to know where to get samples.

you're bound to get a hundred different answers because people's tastes vary so much, but I personally like unjury and Syntrax products. You can get samples of both.

This seems to be a very common battle. I found a brand called AMP (chocolate) at GNC that I really loved after trying about 6-8 others, but developed really bad gas shortly after I started using it. Come to find out it had something to do with mixing Protein and skim milk and how the emzymes react, etc. So, I switched to Fairlife milk and wouldnt change a thing now! Good luck!
