8 days out

Hi I'm 8 days out and am down 14 pounds. However, I have absolutely no energy. I was cut open and had 38 staples which were removed day 5. My doctor said I could eat whatever I wanted to but take it easy. I haven't really done that though. I am having such a horrible time getting my protein in. When will I feel normal again? I just want to sleep and I can't do that with three babies.

It will take awhile. Cut open and 38 staples removed - this is a lot more surgery than most. It will definitely take you sometime to heal. I reach a happy state when all the problems were resolved at the 6 month mark. But after surgery every day was a little less stressful, a little better.

I've had open abdominal surgery before. It takes a lot longer I'm sorry to say to heal and feel normal than having a laparoscopic surgery.

Did they give you a binder to wear around your middle? It helped me so much, while I healed. It just keeps everything in place. I was really worried if I bent over that my guts would fall out. lol I know that's so silly, but that's how I felt. The binder was a lifesaver!

I hope you're feeling better soon. I know it must be so hard with children to tend to. It will get better. :) Excellent loss too! Good for you!
