Going out to eat

I'm 16 days post op, recently I've been having to go out to lunch for birthdays and such and I've been getting soups ( I'm on the full liquid diet), most of the soups are cream based, such as cream of chicken soup and mushroom soup. I have another birthday lunch and I was planning to get a broccoli soup ( cream based) is this too much fat for me? Should I stop eating out and just go and sit there?

Don't eat much and balance it out by cutting back the rest of the day. If you know you going out to lunch, have protein shakes the rest of the day.

I am 17 days post op, and I am sitting at my desk having creamy broccoli soup as we speak. Just take it slow, and be like the beer commercials used to say " Know when to say when".

  • Just eat about half the soup and you should be fine.

Cream soups were on my post-op liquid list as approved. You probably can't eat enough of it to make the calories be too high.
