Has my surgery Monday and feeling ok, if i can just burp I'll be doing great. I have been taking the gas x strips but not helping. Has anyone found a way around their gas issues

I found to get some gas up was to put my arms on the table and lean my head between them trying to open up your throat air ways. After awhile I would burp... Also eat as slow as possible and only like half or Quarter of a teaspoon at a time.. Good Luck !!

Lay on your side and lift your leg up..also raise your arms over your head. I try not to lay flat either

Hi to you all! I had my surgery yesterday. Day of surgery was pretty rough. I'm a cheap date and don't tolerate very much pain medicine. I don't remember much from yesterday except walking in the hall with my eyes closed!! Lol

Today is much better. Passed the barium swallow and am sipping on water and protein punch, soups. Up walking every two hours. My only real pain from my drain site and my throat is sore from the tubes. I'm using liquid pain medicine. Expect to be discharged tomorrow!

Good Luck it took me 6 day to go!!

This morning I was sleeved after having 2 lapbands. Woke up in pain with gas pains in my cheat you v I've been on pain meds all day after surgery. I've been in and out of sleep all day.. I lost 10 pounds since friday. Hw:251 cw:241

That's great!!! Yay!!

Sleeved 8.26.15. Still in the hospital. Just got taken off my pain pump. Have been having trouble voiding. Working on keeping fluids down if I can then i might get sent home this afternoon.. I've been moving around and try to do everything on my own. Good thing is I'm not really hungry. Just dry mouth.

You're a fighter! What a trouper. Hope you get to go home today.

My surgery was Wednesday also. I'm doing great. Barely no pain. Burping frequently to get rid of the gas and just a bit of nausea now and again. The medicine does help. Incisions hurt when I turn a certain way so...I don't turn that way. Do lots of deep breathing to get that oxygen so you won't get dizzy walking... How are you doing?

@@sgibbs That's great. Well also had my surgery done. WednesdayThis is not to scare anyone. Dr. Goldstein who was my surgeron make five holes in me to work my stomach. The largest one was the length of a quarter. Ingrid, this will give you idea what to look for because I noticed that when you look at other pictures they seem larger when they are really not. I didn't have much gas. It was my stomach itself that was more pain. I was given pain meds when I was in recovery but it was extreme. I even shock Mike who was with me when I ask them to give something stronger. I usually suck it when I am in pain but the pain unbearable. Therefore I given 2mgs of Dilaudid every two hours. After surgery listen to your body know when you need meds and when you are doing to muchMy surgeon's office called me, they had perfect timing. I was having a hard time swallowing. I was fine yesterday but today I went to eat 4 ozs of chicken broth and 3ozs of jello. The jello went down fine but broth was bothering the hell of out of me. I was popping Tums for reflex. Only helped for a little bit. They called me just in time. Here I had a high hiatus hernia. He fix the problem but it's going to be harder to swallow and eat anything, so for now I have to stay on a liquid diet until Sept 4 when I see him. He said he did a little extra work on me. I am only allow to take in 2-3 ozs at a time. He is talking about me doing clear liquids for two weeks before going into full liquidsOk I had to talk about the gas. I was hoping I was lucky and didn't have to worry about gas. Hell no wasn't that lucky. It finally showed its wrath. OMG....the pain. I did the gas-x, walking, prayering, and the rubbing of my stomach....nothing worked. So finally I made my self some orange spice tea and headed to bed. Now anyone who knows Mike, knows he is an asshole when he farts, just damn right rude and nasty. While payback is a bitch and it was being served last night bedside service. The gas finally passed but I made sure my butt was out of blankets. Let it rip and hide under blanket until I heard Mike yelling APRIL..... roflmbbao
