  1. Have a sf fudge pop. Helps squelch the hunger. Clear liquids clear the stomach pretty well...it's not hard to get it in when you consider all liquids count toward your 64ozs. What you use to make your shake, jello, soup, crystal light drink etc...

  6. PKinneB. You are making wonderful progress!!! No rollater... Awesome.... No oxygen....fantastic!!! Success isn't always going to be on the scale...its in other places like you mentioned. Your first efforts are for healing not weight loss. Ppl forget...you just has major altercations to your body. Breathe already. If you're at a standstill.. Try doing just full liquids for a week...that should jump start you again.

    Buyer's Remorse?

I sleeved 8/26... Only feel slight discomfort at one of the incision sites, but not enough for pain meds. This is the healing process n we have to give internal organ that has been severely altered a fighting chance at healing properly. Don't get discouraged...this first stage. Hunger will soon get satisfied with full liquids. You alreAdy wondered and pondered before you had the surgery...true, you didn't know you'd feel this was, but you knew already all those other options at dieting didn't work for you so stop beating yourself up. You're gonna be just fine.
  11. Jay sunshine...you feel that way now because of your discomfort level...those gas pain can be maddening... Keep moving ..stretch those arms overhead an burp n fart til you feel better. I was burping all the time in recovery and was far from modest about it. You must get that gas out. Do your deep breathing exercises to get in oxygen and get all those melds out of your lungs. Cough, cough, cough. I got out early because out of the three bariactric patients...I did the best..burp..and excuse me please..I'm trying to recover. :-)
  12. I sleeved Wednesday and with just a clear liquid diet...you get hungry..I did anyway. Hold on though...full liquids is just a few days away n you can have proteins!!!!! Can't wait!
  13. Actual surgery was only about 45 minutes. By the time you prep you're waiting about 3 hours for your tur
  14. My surgery was Wednesday also. I'm doing great. Barely no pain. Burping frequently to get rid of the gas and just a bit of nausea now and again. The medicine does help. Incisions hurt when I turn a certain way so...I don't turn that way. Do lots of deep breathing to get that oxygen so you won't get dizzy walking... How are you doing?

    August 25th Sleevers!

So happy for you all. Tomorrow I'm up!!!! 7:45 an
  16. Wow that's awesome...my doctor wouldn't do it for me in one swoop. Had to wait 6 months. He had Lots of scar tissue to remove and wanted me to heal first so staples would be more secure. It could be that the insurance won't pay for both at same time. I have Cigna. Please let me know how you make out.
  17. I'll keep you posted after my surgery if there are complications. I really want to follow doctors orders to avoid those things you mentioned. Wish me well!,
  18. Hi...your story sounds like mine. Had band in 2008 lost over 100lbs. Then issues began..just like yours. My band was remove in Jan 2015. I get sleeve tomorrow. I gained almost all my weight back in 7 months. Also got HBP and sleep apnea back. I can barely carry this heavy load because it came back so fast and I had no time to adjust to it.. I was miserable. Especially after losing and looking good and feeling wonderful and full of energy. I tried all the old diets...nothing worked.. I need this tool. I'm extremely excited about my surgery tomorrow because i have a great chance of being successful again and healthy and energetic. Make the decision for you. It's about quality of life and health. Best wishes on you decision making. Prayers for me and my surgeon are welcomed!????????
  19. Did you start walking right away after surgery? I think the sooner you start moving the better the gas moves out. I'm a transition lap and to sleeve patient. My surgery is tomorrow. I recall from the lapband not having much pain..but I was up and walking briskly right away. That's how I remember it anyway..it could be like childbirth...you only remember it briefly til the next kid comes along...hahaha. Hoping for minimal gas tomorrow...
  20. My surgery is tomorrow!!!! Yippee !!!! So Excited! It's good to see the post surgery remarks to help me be prepared... Especially about the gas.
