Pcos and metformin

Hello there!

I have pcos and have been on metformin since 09. I'm wondering if any of you are also in the same boat as I am. I am 5 days post op and haven't taken my metformin. Are you still taking it?

I was on metformin for 3 yrs prior to surgery. Haven't had a single pill since leaving the hospital. Just had blood work done and my diabetes is in remission. (Sleeved 4/21/15)

I haven't taken metformin since surgery(1/27/15). My insulin level has been >50 for about 9 yrs and metformin didn't really help. At about 4 mos post op my pcp did labs and my insulin was 5.

My doctor kept me on it not only because of the PCOS but because he says it helps with fat loss.

I asked the same question in regards to metformin and pcos and my pcp told me I would always be on it to treat the pcos.. I would for sure ask the surgeon or your pcp

I have pcos and I haven't had the surgery yet but my Dr took me off mine so I can have the sleeve done
