I'm also new :) I had my first appt today and I'm so excited to do this that I'm depressed I have to wait 6 months, which I know is normal, but its finally happening !! I've never had a major surgery so I am pretty nervous about being under and something happening (I'm a mother so im a worry wart)

The six months will go by fast don't give up and also being overweight has major risk so going through this procedure is going to be well worth it you are on your path to a healthier you!!!.. I am a couple weeks away from surgery and I am so happy!!!

what happens if during this six months I lose some weight since ill be following a dietician/nutritionist? Will I still be able to do surgery? My bmi is 39 so I'd still be in the obese range..

Some Doctors ask to lose weight keep a healthy diet .. Do you have a medical condition? It all depends..I am diabetic that is why I am going for it I have a hard time losing weight and it fluctuates!!

yes, my insurance requires me to have atleast 3 medical reasons to be approved. I'm insulin resistant, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cellulitus in my legs which is causing boils on my thighs, and I have a hypothyroid. My first appt was today and he didn't say I had to lose weight but it was just a first appt. He said I should be ok to have surgery 01/16. I was there for over an hr and still have so many questions.
