Slowly Gaining/ Not Losing

Recommended Posts

Hey BP,

I was sleeved 5 months ago (Feb 9, 2015). I was relatively low start weight 213. I lost about 30 lbs. In first few months. I have not lost anything since about April 18. Now, I gave gained about 5 or so back. I'm running 4 miles 3 days a week and other exercises 2 additional days. I have always been able to eat more and never felt like I'd had surgery. I drink 2 Protein Drinks a day per my nutritionist. Gives my 40 g Protein, in addition I eat tuna, chicken, or turkey breast with veggies. Any suggestions? Thank you.

If you are on plan and it sounds like you are, maybe it is the exercise and muscle building. Take measurements to see instead of only gauging by the scale. Are your clothes fitting fitting different?

Make sure you are also getting in 64+ ounces of Fluid a day.

What is your Protein goal? Are you reaching it every day? Are you getting at least 64 oz of Water (and more of you are exercising)?

You may be gaining if you are building muscle or you may be gaining if you aren't getting enough nutrition/protein.

Have you talked with your NUT?

Thanks All, yes my clothes are fitting much better. I can actually wear size 8 and 10. I will post pictures when I get home. So, I'm definitely losing inches. So, usually I'm a bit more positive today's gain kind of pushed my off the ledge. Yes, I'm getting my Water in. I'm meeting with nutritionist in a couple of weeks. Thanks again all.

You are doing great! I had surgery on 4/27 at 211 lbs. Today I weigh 179 and have lost a few clothes sizes. I am on the slower end of loses but still happy! Keep at it and remember the scale is only one form of measurement!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
